Review: Sogno Toscano Market & Wine Bar

Updated: Dec 3, 2022

Loved It

TLDR: Walking into Sogno Toscano is like walking into a little slice of Florence. Their authentic paninis are to die for, plus, this all day cafe suits many occasions. Take a friend for drinks or take yourself for coffee and enjoy a really, really good sandwich.

A true panini does not use a panini maker. It is not a “pressed” sandwich like the one you might get in desperation at the airport Starbucks. One day in Tuscany will tell you that and one meal at Sogno Toscano will remind you why it is absolutely correct.

The menu may look like any other cafe’s, but don’t be fooled. These are some serious Italian schiacciata, just like All’Antico used to make 😍. The bread is crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside and the meats are thinly sliced. I was particularly impressed by the use of peeled cherry tomatoes (who peels tomatoes that small?) which were deliciously juicy with the bread. You’re welcome to get a soup or a salad as well but please, make sure you have at least one panini for the table. I highly recommend the Bolognese or Delicata in case you can’t decide.

Frankly, it’s hard not to like Sogno Toscano – even from the street, it screams cute. Once inside, it’s cozy and casual, with jazzy background music and jars of Italian imports lining the walls to remind you that this is an Italian cafe. An all day Italian cafe at that, so don’t be surprised to find it packed at 4PM on a Sunday with coffee and wine cups emptied on the same table. Bring just one friend (preferably one you don’t mind accidentally playing footsie with, these are small tables) or go solo (yes, you can!) to ensure a spot.
